Chapters 2-4 nicely illuminate the terrain of Christian Ethics, but they are less central to the thrust of this book than Chapters 1, 5-6. Whale would take revenge on the rebellious Karloff by making him do several retakes of the scene where he has to carry Colin Clive up the windmill stairs, thus injury Karloff's back. She's almost a secondary character, as the other characters spend most of the second half talking about her, or looking for her. All the the changes are made to accommodates bidders more favorable to Bradley and his political cronies.
